“George Keyt: The Absence of a Desired Image” is the latest and by far most comprehensive study of Sri Lanka’s most internationally renowned painter. Written by Dr Sinharaja Tammita-Delgoda, Sri Lanka’s pre-eminent art historian, and published by the Taprobane Collection, one of the largest gatherings of art pieces and artefacts in the country, it sheds light on Keyt’s contribution to cultural modernism in India and Asia, incorporating never before published paintings, images, and other works.
